Target is a holiday heaven for Christmas lovers like me.
The store starts putting Christmas stuff out before Halloween even hits, and I love them for it. I’ve been good. I’ve used restraint. I’ve resisted temptation. But the Christmas excitement became too much, and I had to make my annual spend-too-much-on-stuff trip to Target. And the store did not disappoint.
These are my top pick Christmas products at Target this year. I apologize to your budget in advance!
Family Christmas PJ Sets
Finding matching pajamas for the whole family is a breeze this year, thanks to Target. From the Grinch to Santa to simple snowflakes, there are plenty of designs to choose from.
They have stacks and stacks of adorable PJ sets for all ages and in all sizes. All you have to do is pick the one you like and then find everyone’s size!
Stylish Christmas Sweaters
I love an ugly Christmas sweater, truly. But there’s plenty of room in my closet (actually, there isn’t) for stylish holiday sweaters too.
Target must’ve read my mind or looked at my Pinterest this year because A New Day, one of its brands, released some endearing and irresistible sweaters. I only bought one, but I fear I’ll be back for the rest. They’re not only cute, they’re well-made, which can’t be said for all Target clothing.
Waxed Amaryllis Bulbs
I’ve never seen these before, so this is one of the newer Target Christmas Products. They’re amaryllis bulbs coated in Christmas-colored wax. These are ready to bring vitality to your Christmas decor. (If you’re looking to enjoy your amaryllis for years to come, you’ll want to opt for the traditional bulbs not covered in wax.) Our resident plant expert, Tracey, has a stellar guide for growing amaryllis bulbs for Christmas.
Pillsbury Holiday Cookies
The Pillsbury ready-to-bake holiday cookies are something I have to make every Christmas, and I know I’m not alone in that. You can find these cookies at many grocery stores, but Target always has the best options!
This year, I’m doing the hot cocoa cookies — and the Elf cookies because that’s an iconic movie and one of my personal favorites. But they always have so many choices: the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas trees, Funfetti cookies, candy cane cookies, and more.
Dunkin’ Holiday Flavors
For my New England and Florida folks, this might surprise you, but Dunkin’ locations are few and far between across the country. I recently moved to Washington state, and, to my abhorrence, there are zero in this state. Zero!
Luckily, Target has my back because they have all the Dunkin’ holiday flavors! They have the Polar Peppermint, Ho Ho Honey Cinnamon, Gingerbread, Holiday Blend, and others, so my Christmas morning is saved.
Curated Ornament Sets
Since I’m Christmas crazy, I’ve been collecting ornaments since before I moved out of my parents’ house. However, I have plenty of friends who found themselves ornament-less when they set out on their own, and that’s a bummer.
You don’t want to drop a paycheck on ornaments because that’s the kind of thing you like to collect over the years. But with these curated ornament sets, your tree doesn’t have to be bare while you wait for ornaments to come into your life organically. Target has these sets in a variety of sizes, colors, materials, and more. Best of all, each set has mixed colors and finishes, so they’re not boring.
Realistic Food Ornaments
These probably aren’t for everyone, but I’m always drawn to them when I’m in the Target Christmas section. They just look so real!
Whatever your favorite food is, you can find it here. From Cheetos to mac and cheese to Snickers to Diet Coke to butter to Doritos, there is one for every food you can think of. They’re not exactly classy, but they’re fun, and you can gift people their favorite snacks to put on the tree.
Embroidered Initial Ornaments
Target has a lot of ornaments to choose from. I couldn’t mention them all here, and frankly, they’re not all worth mentioning. But I’ve never seen these embroidered letter ornaments before, and they stole my heart.
They’re made of felt and have sequins sewn on, holly patterns embroidered, glittery borders, and other tiny details that make them feel special. Get your first initial, a loved one’s first initial, or your last initial to represent the whole family.
Modern Christmas Tree Figurines
While I am a vintage kind of girl, even I think the modern, minimalist tree decor is cool. I haven’t seen as wide a collection of these trendy trees anywhere else, so Target is the spot for my contemporary Christmas people.
These are not Mother Nature’s trees, as they’re made from interesting materials like glass, porcelain, or velvet and take on more geometric and artistic shapes. They’re perfect if you want to try something different with your decor this year.
Faux Wreaths
Good faux wreaths can be hard to find. Ones from Dollar Tree tend to fall apart, and the selection at other big box stores is disappointing. But this year, Target brought out some stylish options.
From frosted pine needles to more floral arrangements to rustic styles, you have plenty of aesthetics to choose from. These wreaths are top-quality and will last you year after year too. Think of them as a Christmas investment!
Wondershop Throw Pillows
Here we are! Our first Wondersop product! I promise there will be more. The Wondershop throw pillows this year are positively precious, and I had to take this puppy one home with me.
However, he was one of many styles, including a Christmas tree, a Christmas truck, snowflakes, Santa, reindeer, and more. These are also super affordable for decorative throw pillows, and I find them to be decent quality.
Themed Floor Mats
Target doesn’t play around when it comes to mats — bath mats, door mats, chair mats, kitchen mats. You name it, they have it, and they have it in a Christmas design.
The outdoor entrance mats continue to be my favorite. Outdoor mats are always boring, but these have pizzazz and flair and oodles of Christmas spirit. I only wish I had more front doors so I could buy one of each.
Christmas Blankets
I refuse to pick one type of Christmas blanket to recommend. They’re all great, especially because the wide variety gives you style, texture, and price options. Some are $10, some are $50, and that means we can all enjoy Target Christmas blankets, no matter our budget.
The Chenille & Faux Shearling Threshold ones are unbelievably, magically supple and cozy. The Wondershop Plush Pom Pom blankets are playful and spirited. The Threshold reversible throws are fluffy and thick to keep you warm. The list goes on, but the point is, Target is the place for Christmas blankets.
Diverse Nutcrackers
In recent years, Target has rounded out its collection of nutcrackers to include more diverse characters. There are nutcrackers with different backgrounds and identities, making them more inclusive.
They offer more broad appeal now, but also feel more personable, which I think is beautiful. And the new nutcrackers are beautiful too, with patterned sweaters, tiny hot cocoa mugs, knit scarves, pom-pom beanies, and other charming details that bring this classic Christmas item into the 21st century.
Bocce’s Bakery Dog Gift Set
It says “Only at Target” right on the box, so you know you can’t get this anywhere else. It’s worth noting that Target also has cute dog advent calendars and toys, but the treat variety in them leaves much to be desired.
My dog likes to try new and exciting flavors. Yes, I’ll be getting this for her. It comes with goodies like Ginger Snap Biscuits, Peppermint Bark Training Bites, and a Candy Cane Brushy Stick, helping keep them healthy and happy at the same time.
Wondershop Wrapping Paper
I will be the first to tell you that the Target wrapping paper prices do not thrill me. You want me to pay $15 for one roll? I’ll do it, but begrudgingly. I highly recommend Dollar Tree for your wrapping needs. However, I cannot deny that Wondershop always delivers enticing holiday patterns.
This year, the rich greens and delicate pastels with hints of metallic patterns caught my eye. As always, Wondershop manages to anticipate the hottest aesthetic and then create perfectly on-trend designs. And to be fair, not all the rolls are $15.
Holiday Sheet Sets
How many sheet sets does one girl need? Target seems to think the answer is infinite, and they’ve convinced me. The Wondershop holiday sheet sets are so enchanting, with simple but elegant holiday patterns, cozy styles, and a soft texture.
And they’re super affordable, especially compared to other sheets in Target. I get a fresh pair every year for Christmas, and they never cease to bring me holiday joy.
Wondershop Hand and Dish Towels
Perhaps dish towels don’t excite everyone, but I don’t think those people are aware of the Wondershop dish towels. From Christmas puppies to peppermint candies to proud nutcrackers, the options are plentiful and endearing.
You can find one with teddy bears, Christmas phrases, holiday scenes, holly, and much more. I’s easy to find one that matches your kitchen or your Christmas aesthetic.
Threshold Scented Candles
The candle options at Target are abundant, but I don’t think any are as potent as the ones from Threshold. I could smell the Forest Fir from four aisles away before I even found them, and the Holiday Hearth scent was just as rich and enveloping.
If you get headaches easily, these are not the candles for you. But if you’re like me and want to be absolutely engulfed in Christmas scents, buy these. Plus, they come in very chic jars and fancy shapes.
Holiday Shaped Candles
Speaking of candle shapes, Target also has scented candles in cute holiday shapes like peppermint candies, baked treats, and gingerbread houses. These have a similar vibe to the realistic food ornaments, but they don’t look quite as edible.
In all honesty, the scents aren’t as strong as I like, but the fun shapes are enough for me to get on board. You don’t even have to light them for a festive impact.
Classy Advent Calendars
Throwaway, single-year advent calendars are easy and fun, but the classy calendars you can use year after year and customize with different surprises each season are fabulous. Target has a few options, from tiny houses for each day to simple layouts with a tiny wreath you move from day to day.
These are the final pieces in your Christmas decor puzzle and pack a punch of Christmas spirit while being refined and aesthetic. It’s the countdown to Christmas, the anticipation, that makes the season special. For me, advent calendars are essential.
Elegant Knit Stockings
I’m picky when it comes to my stocking choices. I’m not a fan of cheesy designs or cheap materials. When I saw the green cable-knit stocking in Target, I was immediately in love.
These are made by Hearth & Hand, one of Target’s fancier brands. They’re the kinds of stockings you’ll cherish forever, and not get sick of by next season.
Monochrome Nutcrackers
Target has already diversified its collection of nutcrackers, but they’ve also added these fuzzy felt, gleaming gold, and glittery ones to its shelves this year. These nutcrackers are monochromatic, offering a modern feel while keeping that classic Christmas spirit.
You can find them in enchanting colors, like quintessential red and green, or gold, silver, hot pink, black, and more. If you love the modern Christmas tree figurines, you’ll love these too.
Favorite Day Seasonal Ice Cream
Whole Foods offers holiday gelato flavors that people race to the freezers to buy, but Target’s ice cream section gets in the holiday spirit too! The Favorite Day flavors are exceptional, and the peppermint bark and hot cocoa options are always stocked during this time of year.
I adore Ben & Jerry’s and Talenti, but must admit that Favorite Day ice cream holds its own against these top-shelf ice cream brands. And the holiday flavors are by far the best Favorite Day ice cream offerings.
Hooded Polar Bear Blanket
Target has these adorable Wondershop Hooded Polar Bear Blankets this year and I’m obsessed. I can’t think of anything better to snuggle up in while watching The Polar Express or A Christmas Story.
The blanket even has little mittens attached to keep your fingers warm! The smiling polar bear has a striped scarf that only adds to the cuteness. It might look like a children’s item, but I know plenty of adults out there want this too.
Wondershop Fuzzy Socks
Unsurprisingly, Target is full of holiday socks. Do you want Santa Claus socks? Snowman socks? Reindeer socks? Maybe you’re looking for candy cane socks or snowflake socks. It doesn’t matter. Whatever you’re envisioning, you’ll find it at Target.
The styles range from simple plaid to dazzling winter scenes, and you can choose from sleek and soft or fluffy and fuzzy. There are holiday socks for kids of all ages and adults, and they come in various lengths so you can find the perfect fit.
Peppermint Sprinkles
All of the holiday sprinkles and baking toppings at Target are fantastic. Most of them are made by Favorite Day, and they’re all wonderful for creating Instagram-worthy baked goods. But these peppermint sprinkles are to die for.
They’re refreshing and bright in flavor, and colorful enough to elevate any baked good. I’m shocked that the concept of peppermint-flavored sprinkles hasn’t become a Christmas staple in the kitchen, but they’re a staple in my kitchen now. I plan to put them on top of my Pillsbury hot cocoa cookies!
Holiday-Themed Waffle Makers
Make Christmas morning extra special with the Dash holiday-themed waffle makers. These feature Christmas-themed patterns on the griddle, so your waffles come out with a Santa Claus face or snowflake on them.
There are even more options on the shelves, including reindeer, gingerbread men, Christmas trees, and other charming options. The waffle makers are also compact, so you can easily stow them away with your holiday decorations when the season ends.
Favorite Day Cheesecake Bite Collection
Target adds a few desserts to its freezers this time of year. There are holiday macarons and creme brulee, but the cheesecake bites are the winner for me. Choosing a cheesecake flavor is a stressful event for me, so getting a bite-sized piece of all the flavors is my idea of heaven.
The pack comes with New York-style, strawberry swirl, and chocolate cheesecake bites. They’re ideal for parties or eating alone on the couch (like I do). Frozen foods aren’t usually superior, but something about these is magically scrumptious and could compete with any fresh cheesecake out there.
Beauty Gift Sets
If you’re shopping for a beauty fanatic, forget about Sephora and head to Target. The collection of beauty gift boxes and sets is impressive. There’s one for every beauty lover, whether they’re into hair, makeup, skincare, or nails.
There is a Burt’s Bees gift set I’m a fan of, but that’s just one of the many, many options. And if you’re the beauty lover, good luck walking the Target beauty aisles and not grabbing a few goodies for yourself. These sets are hard to resist.
Holiday Baking Supplies
Aside from minty sprinkles, Target puts out a range of baking goodies. You can find a vast array of cookie cutters, spatulas, cupcake wrappers, frosting colors, and more to make your Christmas treats extra special this year.
Personally, I’m a huge softie when it comes to the holiday-themed spatulas. I swap out all my baking gear for holiday replacements every year, and Target makes it easy.
Holiday Scented Candles
I mentioned shaped candles and the super-scented Threshold ones. But I can’t talk about Target holiday candles without mentioning their extensive collection the staple Threshold candles. These are always at Target during the holidays.
While the scents change, my excitement for the selection never does. This year, Target has cozy options like Fireside Flannel, Gingerbread Frosting, Scarlet Leaves, Prosecco Pine, and many more. Make sure you stock up!
Favorite Day Flavored Whipped Cream
The last Favorite Day treat I have to list is the whipped cream. When it comes to whipped cream, I like to keep things simple. But the Favorite Day flavors are too enticing to ignore.
This year, I saw hot cocoa, pecan pie, and peppermint flavors. The peppermint and hot cocoa are familiar to me, but the pecan pie is new and I am thoroughly intrigued. I imagine it’s just as delicious as the other flavors I’ve had. I plan to put it on my pecan pie and double up on that nutty flavor.
Bullseye Squishmallows
We all know Bullseye, right? He’s the adorable little white dog that has been Target’s mascot since 1999. After 25 years of seeing this sweet dog in commercials and advertisements, many people have fallen in love with him.
Now, there are Bullseye-themed Target Christmas Products, from cookies to ornaments to mugs. But the cutest one they have this year is the Bullseye Squishmallow. Everyone’s obsessed with Squishammlows this year, and that includes Bullseye!
